Lot 981		Morgan Dollar. 1896. NGC graded MS-66. Deep mottled gold on the obverse with bright blue in the fields as well, on the reverse we note total immersion in gold, mauve and blue in an organized fashion. Lot 985		Morgan Dollar. 1896-O. NGC graded MS-63. A downright rare date in mint state, at least one bag turned up but most of the coins were dull and not well struck. Here is a nice exception, with good luster and a decent strike. The coin remains bright white, and the surfaces show minimal handling marks. One of the great key dates of the series in higher grades. Aqua green nuances near the peripheral realms add to the obverse allure. Reverse wise, a pie shaped golden eruction emanating from the eagle's navel away from his gaze, soft gold elsewhere. Toned on both the obverse and reverse with deeper areas of blue near the rims, brilliant reddish gold and fading to a sunset gold for the majority of the central areas. Particularly well balanced and organized colors, and likely from a paper coin holder as compared to a coin bag in this catalogers guess. Not only a superbly toned coin, but a superb grade as well, with nearly perfect surfaces throughout. Don't miss this one if you need the date for your toned Morgan collection (PCGS # 7292) .
